Description
Our client, centrally located in Melville, is looking for a medical assistant on a temp to hire basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor vitals and document in patient records
- Assist with intake, prep, gowning, and post-visit follow-ups
- Prepare exam rooms and supplies
- Communicate effectively with RNs, PAs, and MDs
- Support patient education and maintain confidentiality
- Ensure infection control and sterilization procedures are followed
- Handle patient transport, scheduling, and basic administrative duties
- Uphold safety and emergency preparedness standards
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required
- At least 2 years of experience as a medical assistant, certification preferred
- Experience in a surgical or aesthetics setting a big plus
- BCLS certified
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting
- Comfortable with physical demands, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting
Work Schedule & Pay:
- Hours: Monday–Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Thursdays until 7 p.m.) with a half hour lunch
Pay Range: $22-25/hour based on experience
