Litigation Attorney – Tort
Location: Houston, TX
Experience Level: 4th–5th Year Associate
Compensation: $170K–$190K (Depending on experience and credentials)
Billable Requirement: 2,000 hours/year
About the Role:
A Houston-based legal team is seeking a mid-level litigation associate to join its growing tort and emergency response practice. This is a unique opportunity to work on urgent and complex matters across various industries. The role is fast-paced, intellectually engaging, and ideal for an associate who enjoys real-time problem-solving in high-stakes situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a litigation docket and take ownership of cases from start to finish.
- Draft and review pleadings, discovery, motions, affidavits, and trial documents.
- Conduct depositions and prepare summaries for mediation and trial.
- Appear in court regularly and handle hearings with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and supervise junior team members.
- Communicate effectively with clients, court personnel, experts, and opposing counsel.
What We’re Looking For:
- JD from an accredited law school, top of class preferred.
- Licensed to practice in Texas and in good standing with the State Bar.
- 4–5+ years of litigation experience, including trial and tort litigation.
- Strong writing, editing, and courtroom skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Insurance defense experience is a plus, but not required.
- Willingness to travel frequently.

Pay:$170,000.00 - $190,000.00
