Residential Shift Supervisor
The Residential Shift Supervisor oversees shelter operations during assigned shifts, providing leadership, staff supervision, and ensuring safe, compliant daily operations. This role manages scheduling, staff coverage, client intake, crisis response, and facility oversight while enforcing all policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and assign tasks to operations staff and Residential Specialists.
- Assist with staff scheduling and coverage for absences or emergencies.
- Coordinate client placements with DHS and support intake processes.
- Respond to incidents, crises, and client concerns; complete required documentation.
- Monitor daily census, update CARES, and reconcile Metrocards weekly.
- Conduct facility inspections to ensure safety, cleanliness, and security.
- Maintain records for safety drills, inspections, and client property.
- Support delivery of program services and ensure policy compliance.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience working with at-risk or homeless populations in a residential setting.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention and 24-hour facility operations.
- Strong communication, documentation, and computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and maintain schedule flexibility.
