Our Client a premier private school in the Stamford, Connecticut area is seeking a Part-Time IT Support Technician to provide essential morning help desk coverage Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Operating within a campus-wide Mac environment, this entry-level professional delivers immediate technical relief directly to students and teachers. The primary focus of the position is to resolve immediate access issues and keep the academic day running smoothly without classroom disruption. Technicians must have prior professional tech support experience to qualify for this fast-paced independent school environment.
Primary Responsibilities
The technician delivers direct, face-to-face login assistance to students and teachers facing credential errors, password lockouts, or network connection failures. This individual diagnoses and resolves daily technical friction across a varied fleet of hardware, including school-issued Chromebooks, MacBooks, and standard laptops. By managing the high-volume morning walk-up window, the technician ensures that both faculty members and students can access their digital classrooms, testing software, and internal educational portals without delays.
Position Requirements
Candidates must possess prior professional IT help desk or school-based technical support experience. Deep familiarity with the macOS ecosystem, ChromeOS navigation, and Google Workspace user management is strictly required. Because the role interacts directly with users of all ages and technical skill levels, the ideal candidate must demonstrate exceptional patience, adaptive empathy, and crystal-clear communication when guiding both young students and busy teachers through troubleshooting steps.
