Description

We are seeking a strong non-profit Temp Staff Accountant to join our team!

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and submit grant invoices, drawdown requests, and budget modifications in accordance with funder requirements and grant agreements (e.g., federal, state, local, foundation)
• Keep track of receivables and collections for all active grants, and follow up on outstanding balances as needed
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date grant receivable schedules and reports
• Reconcile grant receivable balances monthly and ensure alignment with the general ledger
• Work closely with the program staff to ensure allowable costs are billed accurately and in a timely manner
• Assist with the preparation of supporting documentation for audits, funder reviews, and financial reporting
• Monitor grant expiration dates and ensure final invoices or budget modifications are submitted within deadlines
• Support with financial close and assist with year-end audits
• Identify opportunities to streamline AR processes and improve internal controls

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of Accounting work experience in a non-profit financial role.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient computer skills: MS Office, ADP and other financial software.
• If required or needed, the ability and willingness to work flexible hours including weekday evening hours or weekends.
