Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager Non Profit 

Location: Hybrid (Periodic travel required in the NYC boroughs)
Industry: Nonprofit

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to support the financial operations of a nonprofit organization with affiliated churches. This role will be responsible for managing the accounting and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for assigned entities.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Consolidate church-level financial results into corporate financial statements.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Present financial information and budget performance to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Support audits and year-end financial processes.
  • Collaborate with operational and leadership teams. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience.
  • Strong proficiency with QuickBooks.
  • Ability to explain accounting concepts, financial statements, and budgets to individuals without an accounting or finance background.
  • Strong financial reporting, reconciliation, and month-end close experience.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle; travel to the NYC boroughs is required approximately once per week.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
