Position Title: Job Developer
Status: Temporary to Hire
Location: Brooklyn, New York, Zip 11206 – On-site & occasionally in the field
Hours: Mon – Fri 9 am–5 pm
Pay: $28-$30/hr
Job Summary
We are looking for a Job Developer with business development experience for a private non-profit organization. Must be organized, responsible, and motivated. Professional, strong communicator, organized, pleasant, and outgoing, and should have the ability to work independently as well as together with the office team. This role would be an ongoing temporary position for about 2-4 months that has the potential to become permanent after 4 months.
Essential functions
- Provide comprehensive employment retention services to clients to ensure the achievement of work scope objectives
- Actively market and recruit companies and businesses, conduct presentations about programs to develop job opportunities for clients
- Establish and maintain a job bank
- Conduct on-site and off-site presentations and training for clients, fellow staff, and members of the referral community to present scope of services
- Develop employment opportunities with employers comprising of placement, retention, and career advancement services
- Promote employment services to businesses to create future partnerships and identify job openings as they pertain to the business development strategy
- Maintain working relationships with business associations within all service communities throughout New York state to identify prospective employers
- Conduct individual assessments and career plans to ensure client readiness for employment
- Meet with clients to discuss job opportunities, assist with scheduling interviews and provide post interview feedback
Minimum Qualifications
- 1 year of experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Friendly, personable, and able to think on their feet.
- Strong communication skills.
