Description
We are seeking an experienced Insurance Billing Specialist for a temp to direct hire position location in Stony Brook area, specializing in medical billing. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in claims processing, denial management, and insurance follow-up, with a strong background in orthopedic billing.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and file insurance claims, including Medicare/Medicaid and managed care
- Post and monitor patient and insurance payments
- Conduct insurance follow-up calls on denied claims; resubmit and track until resolved
- Maintain accurate billing records, reports, and files
- Collaborate with billing team to ensure timely claim resolution
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience within Orthopedics
- Experience processing claims for Hand & Upper Extremity, Total Joint, Foot & Ankle (strong plus)
- Hands-on experience with insurance follow-up and denial management
- Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding
- Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and communication skills
