Corporate Treasurer & Controller
Location: Primarily Remote (New York, New Jersey or Connecticut candidates) | Employment Type: Full-Time | Senior Leadership

A private investment platform with a diversified portfolio of investment vehicles and operating entities is seeking a Corporate Treasurer & Controller to lead its financial operations. The organization manages a complex multi-entity structure that includes alternative investments, real estate holdings, private investments, and affiliated family office activities.

Reporting directly to senior leadership, this role serves as the organization’s lead financial executive, overseeing treasury, accounting, tax strategy, and financial operations across the platform. This position combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution and partners closely with internal teams and external advisors to ensure financial discipline, operational efficiency, and long-term scalability.

This role operates in a highly flexible environment and is approximately 90% remote, with occasional in-person meetings or collaboration as needed. Candidates based in the New York metropolitan area are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Treasury & Capital Management

  • Oversee enterprise-wide cash management, liquidity planning, and capital deployment
  • Manage banking relationships, financing arrangements, and external financial counterparties
  • Monitor capital needs and optimize cash flow across multiple entities

Accounting & Financial Oversight

  • Lead accounting operations and financial reporting across a complex entity structure
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Maintain accurate financial statements, general ledger activity, and reporting controls
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal financial policies

Tax Strategy & Compliance

  • Direct tax planning and compliance across multiple entity types and ownership structures
  • Partner with external tax advisors to ensure efficient structuring and regulatory compliance
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax efficiency across the platform

Investment & Operational Support

  • Oversee operational finance related to investment vehicles and affiliated entities
  • Support valuation processes, investor-related reporting, and portfolio financial oversight
  • Provide financial diligence and analysis related to strategic initiatives and investments

Leadership & Infrastructure

  • Manage and develop internal accounting and finance staff
  • Oversee external partners including auditors, administrators, legal counsel, and consultants
  • Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and systems enhancements
  • Build scalable financial infrastructure to support future growth

Qualifications

  • CPA required; advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting, treasury, controllership, or finance leadership roles
  • Experience overseeing complex multi-entity environments, preferably within investment management, family office, real estate, or alternative asset settings
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting, treasury operations, and tax structures
  • Experience managing external advisors and internal teams
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Experience

  • Background in alternative investments or investment operations
  • Familiarity with private investment structures, estate-related planning, or real estate finance
  • Experience implementing or optimizing financial systems and processes
