Commercial Real Estate Litigation Associate

Location: Miami, Florida (Hybrid)
Experience: 4+ Years
Compensation: $270,000–$455,000, based on class year and experience

About the Opportunity

Our client, a nationally recognized Am Law firm, is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Litigation Associate to join its highly regarded Real Estate Capital Markets practice in Miami, Florida. We are representing the firm's search for an experienced litigation attorney who is interested in handling sophisticated commercial real estate disputes in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience representing clients in commercial landlord-tenant disputes, commercial foreclosure litigation, and other complex real estate litigation matters. This role offers significant client exposure, challenging litigation work, and excellent long-term career growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in commercial real estate litigation matters, including landlord-tenant disputes and commercial foreclosure actions.
  • Handle all phases of litigation, including case strategy, motion practice, discovery, depositions, hearings, and courtroom appearances.
  • Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other litigation documents.
  • Prepare and serve commercial landlord-tenant predicate notices and related court filings.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive legal memoranda and briefs.
  • Manage electronic discovery (e-discovery) and document review.
  • Collaborate with clients, opposing counsel, and internal legal teams to efficiently manage complex litigation matters.
  • Maintain organized case files and effectively manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced practice.

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of commercial litigation experience.
  • Experience with motion practice, discovery (including e-discovery), and courtroom advocacy.
  • Commercial landlord-tenant litigation experience, including preparation and service of predicate notices and court pleadings.
  • Commercial foreclosure litigation experience is preferred; candidates with a strong interest in learning this practice area are also encouraged to apply.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills, including familiarity with New York citation formatting.
  • Excellent drafting, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Active Florida Bar license or ability to become licensed in Florida prior to hire.
  • Must reside in or relocate to the Miami, Florida area before the start date.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid position requiring attorneys to work in the Miami office at least three days per week. The firm values collaboration and believes in-person interaction fosters mentorship, professional development, and exceptional client service.

Compensation

Compensation is competitive and based on class year:

  • 3rd Year Associate: $270,000
  • 4th Year Associate: $320,000
  • 5th Year Associate: $375,000
  • 6th Year Associate: $400,000
  • 7th Year Associate: $440,000
  • 8th Year Associate: $455,000
