Description

Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking a junior-to-mid-level associate to join its nationally recognized Data Strategy, Security & Privacy practice group in its San Francisco office. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of privacy law, cybersecurity, and complex commercial litigation, supporting a dynamic and collaborative team.

About the Practice

The Data Strategy, Security & Privacy team represents clients in a wide range of matters, including consumer class actions, mass arbitrations, and government enforcement actions involving privacy, data security, and technology-related issues. Associates gain hands-on experience across all stages of litigation while developing subject matter knowledge in privacy, cybersecurity, and consumer protection laws.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of litigation experience and a strong foundation in civil procedure. This role requires the ability to manage both complex, large-scale matters and fast-paced assignments, along with excellent legal research and writing skills.

Candidates should have experience with, or exposure to:

  • Drafting and contributing to dispositive and procedural motions (e.g., motions to compel arbitration, transfer venue, dismiss for lack of standing, personal jurisdiction, or failure to state a claim, and discovery-related motions)
  • Working knowledge of federal and state court procedures, including local rules, and arbitration forums such as JAMS and AAA
  • Managing written discovery and interacting with client witnesses in connection with discovery obligations
  • Assisting in mediation preparation
  • Experience in privacy, cybersecurity, intellectual property, or a technical background is a plus but not required. Strong academic credentials are expected.

Requirements

  • 2 to 4 years of litigation experience
  • Admission to the California Bar (or ability to become admitted)

Compensation

This position offers a competitive salary range of approximately $235,000 – $310,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications, in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws.
