Key Responsibilities

  • Claim Submission: Prepare and submit electronic and paper claims in accordance with payer guidelines.
  • Payment Posting: Post insurance and patient payments (including zero-payments) accurately and efficiently.
  • Denial & AR Resolution: Review, investigate, and resolve claim denials, escalating complex issues as necessary.

  • Insurance Verification: Update coverage details and verify insurance eligibility for active patients.
  • Payer Portal Utilization: Navigate payer websites to audit claims, track payment status, and submit appeals (training provided).
  • Communication Support: Answer incoming calls and assist patients or clinic staff with billing-related questions.
  • Team Collaboration: Support special revenue cycle projects and provide backup coverage across the billing department.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 2+ years of dedicated medical billing experience; behavioral health or outpatient clinic experience is highly preferred.
  • RCM Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of full-cycle revenue operations (claims, denials, accounts receivable, and payment posting).
  • Payer Familiarity: Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and major commercial insurance plan guidelines is a strong plus.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable working across multiple payer portals and electronic practice management systems.
  • Core Competencies: High attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, excellent verbal/written communication, and the ability to manage competing priorities.

We offer eligible employees competitive pay and access to a range of benefits and support programs based on assignment type, schedule, length of employment, and eligibility requirements, including medical, dental, vision, prescription coverage, short-term disability, 401(k), employee assistance, childcare assistance, discounts, paid holidays, and longevity bonuses. Depending on the benefit, cost may be paid by the Company, the employee, or shared between both.
