Description
We are currently hiring for one of our clients who specialize in substance abuse services and opioid use disorder treatment.
This position is responsible for dispensing medications, collaborating with an interdisciplinary treatment team, and providing clinical care within the LPN scope of practice. You will work onsite at an MMTP (Methadone Maintenance Treatment Program) clinic, ensuring full compliance with state and federal regulations while fostering a supportive and structured environment for patients.
Requirements & Responsibilities:
- License & Education: Current New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working within a substance abuse or addiction services environment.
- Availability: Full-time hours from Monday to Friday (6:15 AM – 1:45 PM) and every other Saturday (8:15 AM – 12:15 PM) with compensatory time provided for Saturdays worked.
- Medication Dispensing: Dispense and administer prescribed medications to patients with opioid use disorder while maintaining flawless accountability, record-keeping, and documentation.
- Patient Assessment: Assess patients within the LPN scope of practice; verify and assess the last methadone dose for patients returning from hospitals, detox facilities, or other care settings.
- Clinical Teamwork: Carry out orders from MDs and PAs, assist during crises or medical emergencies, and participate in clinic meetings and interdisciplinary case conferences.
- Care Coordination: Assist in the coordination of medication deliveries for appropriate patients as indicated by clinical management.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain thorough knowledge of all state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, program policies, and strict HIPAA confidentiality requirements.
- Client Relations: Establish strong rapport and trusting relationships with clients and counselors, serving as a positive role model while delivering care with empathy and respect.
