Description

We are seeking a cook for a client located in Brooklyn, NY. This position is temporary with hours Monday - Friday with a 6am start time. 

Requirements: 

  • Oversee preparation and cooking daily meals
  • Preparing the menu beforehand
  • Serve meals to residents 
  • Ordering fresh ingredients and scheduling food service
  • Cater agency events, including holidays and private functions.
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and case conferences.
  • Assist with daily oversight of the  center and respond to emergencies.
  • Complete and submit reports on time.

Qualifications:

  • Food Protection Certificate as issued by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, or ServSafe.
  • Proven experience as a cook and in kitchen management.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience preparing meals for 500+ and meeting nutrition guidelines.
  • Proficient in MS Office, POS, and restaurant management software.
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain).
  • Ability to lift heavy items, stand long hours, and work flexible schedules.
  • Skilled at supervising and training staff.
