Temporary Assignment

Overview

Our client, a large public-sector organization, is seeking multiple New York licensed Attorneys on a temporary basis to support a sustained increase in legal workload within its commercial and procurement operations. These roles will support high-volume contracting, complex negotiations, and compliance initiatives arising from expanded programs, policy initiatives, and operational reforms.

This is a long-term engagement supporting a legal team operating at capacity and requires attorneys with strong public-sector procurement and transactional experience.

Assignment Details

  • Position Type: Temporary / Contract

Anticipated Duration: 6+ months

  • Work Location: Remote

Pay Rate: 

1-7 years of post bar experience: $42.59/hr

7+ years of post bar experience: $44.63/hr

Key Responsibilities

Attorneys will be assigned to one or more of the following practice areas based on experience and business need:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of procurement-related agreements
  • Support Requests for Bids and other competitive procurement processes with extended timelines
  • Advise on food services, facilities, and related operational contracts
  • Support expansion of nonprofit vendor programs
  • Address vendor compliance and accountability requirements
  • Manage and negotiate a growing portfolio of program-related contracts
  • Support expansion initiatives related to early childhood education and childcare programs
  • Assist with negotiation and completion of substantial existing agreements tied to program growth
  • Support negotiation and execution of complex transportation system contracts
  • Assist with contract extensions, emergency procurements, and approvals
  • Coordinate with external legal stakeholders
  • Track and manage a large, active transportation contract portfolio

Qualifications

J.D. and active New York bar admission in good standing (must have NY license)

3+ years of experience in general procurement contracts, transportation contracts and/or service agreements

Experience in government or public-sector contracting, procurement, or commercial transactions

  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and issue-spotting skills
  • Ability to manage high-volume workflows with competing deadlines

Experience working collaboratively within large legal departments or government agencies preferred

Strong technological experience required (Admission process includes general technology test)

We need someone who is eager to learn, a team player and can see a project through to the end. Given the large volume of work, we weigh the technology skills more heavily.
