Software Engineer III
**Remote Position- Can go Hybrid, Candidates in NYC commutable area preferred**
Our client is looking for an experienced software engineer to join our programming team as it grows. You will design and develop software applications and assist in migrating existing legacy applications to newer platforms. You understand best practices and have experience with multiple programming languages. You are a team player possessing strong analytical as well as technical skills. This position will report directly to the Director of Software Architecture and Applications.
? Write clear concise Python/Django code for internal systems and platforms.
? Promote and sustain a strong programming culture: learning, quality, teamwork.
? Own CI, testing, monitoring architecture, including hands-on implementation as needed.
? Co-own AWS architecture, including hands-on implementation as needed.
? Responsible for collaborating with and training cross-functional team members within the SCRUM/Agile framework.
? Minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in full software development life cycle, SCRUM/Agile methodologies, including but not limited to successful deployments as a lead.
? Work with business users to select OSS, SaaS, and COTS products that solve business problems while meeting enterprise architecture requirements.
? Various duties as assigned, move the organization forward.
? Some conference travel & on-call rotations.
? 5+ years of software development and corporate IT experience.
? Strong foundational computer science skills.
? The ability to quickly assess technology options and make strong recommendations based on principles and experience.
? Knowledge of several programming languages, and excellent programming skills in at least one.
? Strong written communication skills.
? Operational knowledge and familiarity with Linux servers & SQL databases.
? Demonstrated ability to mentor other software developers to maintain architectural vision and software quality.
