Description
Are you interested in working as a School Nurse with students in public, private, parochial, elementary, and high schools?
We are currently seeking Registered Nurses to work in a school setting. In this position you will cover any acute care needs in the school (including the three “B’s' of school nursing - bumps, bruises and bellyaches) and are community oriented, including providing health information to students, teachers, principals and parents.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop care plans for students with ongoing conditions
- Consult with teachers, school administrators and other school staff regarding student care
- Administer medication as required by doctors orders
- Collaborate with school personnel and parents
- Provide emergency treatment as needed to staff and students
- Monitor student immunization records
- Educate students and staff on health procedures
- Perform hearing, vision and other health screenings
Skills:
- State of Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Previous school nursing/substitute nursing experience
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing
- Knowledge of school laws and policies
- BLS/CPR and First Aid certifications
- Knowledge of state health regulations
