Payroll Specialist

Prestigious staffing firm based in midtown Manhattan is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their growing team This is a full time / salaried position with a full benefits package. This position will sit out of the firm's midtown Manhattan office.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and check timesheets for accuracy.
- Liaison with outsourced payroll company to ensure proper processing of weekly payroll.
- Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded properly.
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
- Handle direct deposit requests and data.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolving concerns.
- Process accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
- Various other duties as assigned by Controller.

- Knowledge of payroll, garnishments and benefits distribution.
