Payroll Manager

Description
This position will be responsible for performing various Payroll responsibilities, including but not limited to, processing payroll on a timely basis, research and resolve payroll issues, preparation of general ledger reconciliations and payroll data and communicate with staff and supervisors regarding payroll questions.
Responsibilities will also include, but are not limited to:
• Processes NY State payroll ranging 1000-1300 employees on a weekly & biweekly cycle, union & nonunion employees.
• Required software: Kronos
• Ensuring accuracy of work, maintaining confidentiality, and setting the example of communicating respectfully and thoughtfully with peers, staff, people supported and outside vendors.
• Reviewing all vouchers covering deductions, payroll taxes, travel expenses, and payroll funding.
• Reviewing all payroll tax returns, and wage and hour inquiries.
• Maintaining staff master files and allocation tables.
• Preparing and reviewing payroll journal and posting to the general ledger, making corrections, as necessary.
• Ensuring timely and accurate distribution of payroll checks complying with proper internal controls.
• Knowledgeable with basic accounting functions to support the Accounting Dept as well.
• Preparing all benefit and leave accruals as necessary.
• Taking initiative on projects and demonstrate excellence in teamwork.
• Actively participating in staff meetings to ensure efficient flow of information and communication of key issues.
