Under the direct supervision of the Billing Manager, the Medical Billing Representative will mainly assist in the accurate billing and collection of Medical claims.
Performs follow up with insurance companies on unpaid insurance accounts identified through gaining reports.
Enters Billing Data into our system in a timely manner, corrects errors and ensures that the billing information is correct/ accurate.
Sorts out, compile the medical billing, and coding drafts once they have been successfully done.
Ensures completion of documentation and coding on the billing form and EMR when needed on charges entered in patient’s accounts for a correct and complete billing claim.
Verifies coverage with insurance companies and contact insurance carriers regarding delinquent and denied claims.
Tracks billing, monitors collections, and payments to ensure the smooth running of the agency/program finances.
Maintains compliance with the local, state and federal laws.
Responsible for sending claims to all private insurance, third party, Medicare and Medicaid.
Daily review of all postings before claim submission and daily closing and balancing of day posted.
Enter cash receipts if needed and assure correct allocations, distribution in accordance with the established protocol.
Minimum of 1 year Billing experience a must
Previous experience with Medicare, Medicaid and 3rd Party Insurance Companies
High School Diploma or GED Required
Excellent communication and writing skills
