Job Description:
As a Contract Litigation Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal team in all aspects of the litigation process during this temporary assignment, with a specific focus on e-discovery, ECF filing, docket calendaring, and courtroom proceedings.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in the preparation and filing of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs using ECF systems.
- Conduct legal research to support case strategy and preparation.
- Organize and manage case files, ensuring all relevant documents are maintained and easily accessible.
- Coordinate with external parties, such as clients, witnesses, and court officials.
- Assist in the preparation for depositions, hearings, and trials.
- Review and analyze discovery materials and lead the e-discovery process.
- Draft and prepare discovery responses with a keen understanding of e-discovery protocols.
- Utilize ECF systems for efficient and accurate electronic filing.
- Manage docket calendaring and deadlines effectively.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of litigation procedures and contribute to courtroom proceedings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certification.
- 3-5+ years proven experience as a litigation paralegal in a reputable law firm.
- Strong knowledge of legal research tools and databases.
- Extensive experience with e-discovery processes and tools.
- Proficient in Electronic Case Filing (ECF) systems.
- Experience with docket calendaring and deadline management.
- Courtroom experience and a solid understanding of litigation procedures.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
