A nonprofit client is currently seeking an exceptional candidate to become our Development & Donor Relations Officer. The Development department is responsible for cultivating and deepening relationships with our congregants, maximizing our members’ giving potential, and creating new fundraising campaigns and giving opportunities.
• Professional Development & Staff Culture • Assist with preparation, implementation, event planning logistics and follow-up, for all fundraising projects, including: High Holy Days, Annual Appeal, Annual Spring Gala, congregant events, and special projects • Communicate effectively on the status of projects and challenges; work with the Director of Development to achieve individual and departmental revenue goals • Partner with other departments to support their fundraising endeavors and continue cross-department collaboration • Data Maintenance & Research • Ensure accuracy of all congregant information entered into the internal database, update contacts and congregant information, track interactions • Keep track of year-over-year records for all donations, create analytics and comparison report for staff and Board meetings • Generate reports to assist in research, budgeting, goal-setting, analyzing trends and comparisons with prior years, identifying lapsed donors, and actual data versus projections • Complete donor and prospect research using internal database and other research tools • Work closely with finance team, including tracking and reconciling all incoming donations, monthly statements, and weekly acknowledgment letters • Prepare donor lists for annual print publications • Donations • Organize and track pledges and payments, ensuring accurate and timely entries in internal database for online, postal mail, and phone • Prepare and disseminate timely solicitations, acknowledgments, and all relevant notifications via postal mail and email • Member Engagement and Cultivation • Using our “Strategic Plan” as a guide, help develop a stronger culture of philanthropy • Support Development Committee and Spring Gala Committee • Help to create year-long strategies for giving and member interaction • Communications • Work with Director of Development and Director of Communications on projects to enhance development efforts • Update Spring Gala webpage with event content, registration and donation opportunities • Assist in developing out-of-the-box ideas to increase fundraising results
? Bachelors Degree required ? 2-5 years of related nonprofit development and/or fundraising work required; experience working in a synagogue is a plus ? Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills ? Demonstrates ability to develop and steward positive relationships with donors ? Able to manage and prioritize time effectively, be flexible, remain organized and detail-oriented ? Able to work independently, take initiative and assume ownership of projects ? Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment ? Exceptional computer skills: advanced working knowledge of MS Excel and Word, Gmail and GoogleDocs, and MailChimp. High level experience with donor database systems (experience with ShulCloud a plus).
