Director of Workforce Development Non-Profit
Description
A non-profit client is seeking a Director of Workforce Development will oversee several employment initiative programs, each with different deliverables, budgets and performance outcomes. This role will oversee a $3 million budget and key responsibilities including hiring staff, conducting performance reviews, meeting with program managers to set goals, strategies and operational plans to meet State and City goals.
Responsibilities:
• As a key member of the workforce management team, participate in strategy and decision-making activities
• Develops, directs and evaluates Comprehensive Employment Services and various employment program initiatives
• Hires, supervises, develops and manages staff to ensure meeting the goals, objectives and milestones of the various programs
• Identifies and develops client data and tracking methods. Maintains accountability to meet program goals and objectives
• Oversees all program workflows, staff, program operation and all administrative functions
• Identifies marketing of program services to ensure that program eligibility and enrollment meets program goals
• Works in collaboration with various funding sources
• Researches and initiates individual, corporate and government opportunities
• Provide innovative program development and operational ideas and solutions for current and future contracts/grants
• Undertake external communications with a range of stakeholders, including funders, employers, local officials, service providers and others
Skills:
• Education/Experience Requirement - Master's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of successful program management responsibility within workforce development
• Experience working with nonprofit organizations, community groups and performance-based government contracts
• Experience managing Supervisory and line staff required; preference for managing staff stationed at multiple locations
• Knowledge of workforce development and managing job placement and retention programs
• Experience operating performance based programming
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge working with clients from various socio-economic backgrounds and experience working with populations with multiple barriers to employment
• Experience creating program operations and writing proposals in response to funding opportunities
• Strong writing, analytical, interpersonal, time-management and communications skills required
• Must be organized, detail oriented and have the ability to work effectively under pressure in both a team setting and individually
• Excellent computer skills and proven facility with data management, process flow, spreadsheet and database tracking systems
• Must possess strong leadership qualities
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and to effectively manage partnerships
• Must be able to independently manage multiple projects
• Must have intermediate to advanced skills in Excel
• Familiarity with database structure and management is preferred
