Job Title: Billing Coordinator

We are a leading staffing firm specializing in assisting law firms with their recruitment needs. Our client, a prestigious law firm located in New York, Chicago, and DC, is currently seeking a talented and experienced Legal Billing Coordinator to join their team.
Job Overview:
As a Legal Billing Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in our client's finance and billing operations. This is a hybrid/remote position that requires a candidate with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a billing position within a law firm, proficiency with ProLaw or similar billing software, and a demonstrated ability to handle "soup to nuts" payroll responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have e-billing experience, a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and experience with Ramp is a plus. Additionally, applicants must be within a reasonable commuting distance from either New York, Chicago, or DC and be willing to commute to that office 2-3 times per week.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end billing process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client agreements and firm policies.
- Utilize ProLaw or similar billing software for efficient and precise billing operations.
- Handle comprehensive payroll responsibilities, from timekeeping to final processing, ensuring compliance with legal and industry standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding billing inquiries, providing excellent customer service and addressing concerns promptly.
- Work closely with legal teams to gather necessary billing information, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate invoicing.
- Generate regular billing reports and conduct analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and actively contribute to the improvement of billing and payroll procedures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a billing position within a law firm.
- Proficiency with ProLaw or similar billing software.
- Experience managing "soup to nuts" billing responsibilities.
- E-billing experience is required.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with Ramp is a plus.
- Strong MS Excel Experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Client-facing experience with a strong customer service orientation.
- Proven ability to drive the billing process and collaborate effectively.
