Job Posting: Contract Attorney

Position: Contract Attorney 

Job Type: Full-Time, Contract (Potential to convert to permanent position)
Work Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Initial 90 days in-office)

 

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Contract Attorney with 5-6 years of experience in civil or criminal litigation, particularly in administrative trials. The successful candidate will handle cases for a NYC government agency, focusing on labor and employment issues related to the disciplining of non-uniform staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the organization in labor and employment matters
  • Conduct administrative hearings and trials
  • Handle grievances effectively and efficiently
  • Conduct hearings and depositions as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with labor and employment law is advantageous but not required
  • Strong background in administrative trials and hearings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the New York State Bar
  • Minimum of 5-6 years of relevant litigation experience
