1. School Professionals is also in the substitute teacher business; wouldn't it be cheaper to just hire a long-term sub?

2. Can't I just hire one of your subs that have been working for my school?

3. What happens if I refer one of your candidates to another school?

4. What if your candidate also applies to my school, independently or through another agency?

5. Other than your 20% fee, are there any charges for costs associated with recruitment, such as advertising?

6. What if the teacher leaves within the first month or so?

7. We're in the practice of recruiting ourselves so what is the advantage of working with an agency such as yours?

1. There are advantages to both. Our direct hire fee is structured extremely cost-effectively. For substitutes, you pay us one all-inclusive daily rate. Since all subs are our employees, we pay them weekly, handle all payroll functions, and cover them under our workers' compensation, unemployment, and disability insurance policies. We make Social Security (FICA) payments on their behalf and include them in our benefits program. We cover teachers under our multi-million dollar liability insurance policies, protecting you and your school from any claims.

2. Our substitute teachers are our employees and the core of our substitute business. We pay their salaries, benefits, and absorb all the tax and insurance protections of an employer. If you wish to permanently hire one of our employees you must be prepared to pay a fee, just as you would if you hired a candidate we recruited for you. If the substitute has been working for you for a long time talk to us: we might be able to offer some form of discount as recognition for the time they've substituted for you.

3. You will be responsible for paying our fee if the other employer hires the candidate, just the same as if you hired the teacher yourself. This is among the terms and conditions set out in the direct hire agreement.

4. If this applicant came to you first, whatever the source, you will not owe us a fee if you decide to hire the candidate. On the other hand, if the candidate came through us first and later applies to you on his/her own or through another agency, we'll expect you to honor that fact and pay our fee.

5. No. You pay one all-inclusive fee of 20% of the anticipated first year's earnings, only if you decide to hire the candidate. There are no costs to you if you decide against hiring the candidate.

6. If the hired candidate's employment is terminated within 90 days after his employment begins, we will work to find you a replacement at no additional fee. You will just need to notify us as soon as possible.
